PARALYMPIC CHAMPION

Scott Reardon has left a long-lasting impact on the world of sport through an exceptional career as a Paralympian, coach, and leader. Across a 16-year elite career, and competing in two sports, water-skiing and athletics, Scott’s achievements have been remarkable since first representing Australia as a teenager.

As a water-skiing athlete, Scott won 11 World Championship medals, including three gold medals, and captained the Australian team to a bronze medal at world level. Following the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, he transitioned to athletics, specialising in the 100 m and 200 m sprint events.

Scott quickly established himself as one of the world’s leading Paralympic sprinters. Through technical excellence and relentless preparation, he remained internationally undefeated for five consecutive years, earning a reputation as one of the most technically proficient athletes in the sport. His career highlights include three consecutive World Championship titles, a silver medal at the London 2012 Paralympic Games, and gold at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

After the Tokyo Paralympic Games in 2021, Scott retired from competition and transitioned into coaching. Since 2022, he has coached his wife, Vanessa Low, guiding one of the most successful periods of her career. Under his coaching, Vanessa has achieved:

  • World Championship bronze in 2023, just twelve months after giving birth

  • World Championship gold in 2024

  • Paris Paralympic Games gold in 2024, including a world-record performance

  • World Championship gold in 2025 in India

  • A world-record jump in Perth in 2025

These results reflect Scott’s ability to translate lived experience at the highest level into elite coaching outcomes, while balancing performance, wellbeing, and longevity.

Beyond high-performance sport, Scott is deeply committed to building resilience and mental strength in communities and workplaces. He is the founder of Sisu Collective and a key driver behind the Temora Resilience Program, a community-wide initiative delivering evidence-based resilience education across schools, local businesses, and community groups in regional New South Wales. The program focuses on practical mental resilience skills, including purpose, mindfulness, gratitude, and support systems, with the aim of strengthening both individual wellbeing and community connection.

We booked Scott’s experience for a company bonding and learning session and everyone left feeling inspired to be the best versions of themselves that they could be. Many told me they’re sending this experience to their personal network. As the coordinator, I couldn’t be more thrilled! Scott hosted us at 5am his time and didn’t show any signs of being tired. Thank you for the great experience!
